I met Sarah and Matt at my mobile gallery at the Little Italy Mercato a couple months back. They had just recently moved to San Diego from Manhattan and were looking for a photographer to take some engagement shots for them. We agreed Balboa Park would be a fun place to shoot as there are so many spots that provide for stunning contrast and for the gorgeous architecture surrounding the plaza. They brought their dog, Noah, to start the shoot and we continued through the park on a perfect November afternoon. Although it was rather crowded, we were able to take a good amount of photos they'll cherish for years to come. Thanks guys!
I've known Kaya and Leah for just over a decade and they're two of my closest friends. They have two children, Yasira and Atreju (cool names, huh?). They wanted to document this part of their lives because, before you know it, the kids will be all grown up and moving out! Their daughter, Yasi, is a super bright, energetic young lady and their son, Tre, is (normally) very enthusiastic and fun loving. Last week when we met at the Embarcadero to do some sunset shots - Atreju was not having it. Sour mood the whole way through. It was a good learning experience for me to see when things don't go perfectly smooth, so we made the best of it...here's how some of them turned out.
This weekend my wife and I went up to Monterey to see our good friends Gennica and Mike tie the knot. It was a beautiful venue set at the Museum of Art, overlooking a lake with tall trees and a rose garden. My wife, Nicole, has known Gennica for over ten years and was part of her bridal party, leaving me time to get some fun pics of the wedding. Here are some of the shots I was able to snag.
When I began my small business, Signs of San Diego, in 2011, I didn't know what to expect. I just knew that I wanted to try to make it as an artist drawing all the neighborhood signs in San Diego, and since finding a job was a bit difficult at the time, I thought this was my chance to do it.
I had always liked taking photos, ever since I was a little kid with a manual wind up Kodak film camera snapping shots at Sea World, Disneyland and the Wild Animal Park. I would experiment with the flash, angle, and lighting and see how they turned out. The anticipation was always high because back then you had to wait until the film was out, then you had to process the photos and wait to pick them up. Most weren't that great, but I enjoyed the process. Growing up, I fooled around with digital photography, and eventually found myself taking more and more photos. Since my business was pointing me in the direction to take photos to draw off of, I figured why not try to take some really nice shots and see if people wanted to buy them. Nearly four years later, I have branched my brand out to portrait photography to compliment the scenic shots I've been taking and selling with my business. Shutterhubb is my new attempt to showcase quality portrait photography for the everyday person or family. My rates are affordable and I am very fun to work with. Having just started a family of my own this year (my wife - Nicole, and son - Brody), I have found myself really honing in of the craft of portrait photography. I hope you get an opportunity to explore this site and if any questions should arise, please don't hesitate to send me an email, give me a call, or book a consultation. I'd love to hear what services you'd like to discuss with me. Thanks so much! |
